YES-SKIWAX AND GIORGIO GIRARDI

Back in 1997, at my first meeting with university professors in Lyon, no one could have imagined that this encounter would lead to such a groundbreaking and revolutionary collaboration for the ski world. Together, we succeeded in significantly reducing friction between materials.

Until that point, I had worked exclusively with structuring and grinding machines, testing and refining countless methods of hot wax application. The idea of preparing skis using a cold application method—and achieving vastly improved glide performance—seemed unthinkable at the time.

However, after several tests with the university team and their equipment, I developed the first motor to apply wax more efficiently. At the same time, I continued to improve the wax formulas. A few years later, these innovations were used for the first time in the World Cup and at the Olympic Games—in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and biathlon.

With Yes-Skiwax, we eventually developed the "Vario" motor, a portable and ultra-light device that simplifies and optimizes ski preparation. It is now used not only by many national teams and ski manufacturers but has also become accessible to amateur athletes and ski mountaineering.

Our products have continued to evolve and improve. The Roto High-Fluor, Roto Low-Fluor, and Roto No-Fluor lines cover all waxing needs. To offer a complete solution, we’ve also expanded our exclusive formulations to include liquid waxes.

What began as a simple idea has now become a reality.

Yours,
Giorgio Girardi
